Membership & participation

Everything you need to know about using the UUP portal.

These answers cover the questions members and supporters are most likely to ask as they interact with UUP online.

Who can become a UUP member?+
Membership is open to eligible persons who support the party and meet the membership requirements adopted by UUP. Registration through the portal records your details and generates a unique membership number.
How do I register as a UUP member?+
Open the Membership page, complete the registration form and submit it online. Once accepted by the system, you will receive a unique membership number that can be used to identify your membership record.
Does online registration replace local party structures?+
No. The portal supports the party’s physical structures. County, constituency and ward teams can continue to organize locally while the portal provides a shared digital record and communication channel.
How can I update incorrect membership details?+
Contact UUP through the official contacts published on this portal or reach the relevant local party office. Authorized administrators can review and update a member record.
How are counties, constituencies and wards used on the portal?+
They help UUP organize membership, agents, events and local engagement according to Kenya’s administrative and electoral geography. This makes it easier to connect members with the right local structure.
How do I know an announcement is official?+
Announcements appearing in the official UUP portal are published by authorized party administrators. Members should use the portal and other verified UUP channels when confirming important party information.
Can I contribute to UUP through M-PESA?+
Yes. The Donations page supports M-PESA payment prompts through the party’s configured payment provider. A contribution is only treated as successful after the payment provider confirms the transaction.
Will I receive proof of my contribution?+
The system records successful contributions together with the transaction reference. UUP can use this record for reconciliation, reporting and any official acknowledgement process adopted by the party.
What are UUP projects on this portal?+
Projects are party initiatives and organized programmes that UUP chooses to publish for transparency and public information. The project section may show location, budget, delivery status and progress.
How do I find upcoming UUP events?+
Visit the Events page for published meetings, forums, trainings and party activities. Members may also receive email or SMS reminders where they have consented to communications.
How are party agents managed?+
Authorized administrators can assign and track agents at national, county, constituency, ward and polling-station level, including training and deployment status. Agent information is managed securely in the administration portal.
Can I volunteer with UUP?+
Yes. Volunteer opportunities may be announced through the portal, local party structures or official UUP communication channels. Contact your local structure or the party’s official contact point for current opportunities.
How does UUP use my phone number and email?+
Contact details are used for membership administration, transaction communication, event information and party updates where appropriate. Communication preferences and applicable privacy requirements should be respected.
What should I do if I receive a suspicious message claiming to be from UUP?+
Do not send money or sensitive information until you verify the message through the official UUP portal or published contact details. Report suspicious communication to the party for review.
Who can access the administration area?+
Only authorized UUP administrators with approved accounts can access administrative functions. Access is controlled by authentication, roles, permissions and audit logging.
